General information about Myo-Fascial Treatment

Myofascial stretching is a way to relax contracted and knotted muscles; it is the process of releasing trigger points in the body. A knotted muscle is a muscle that is always flexed and refusing to relax.

This technique of stretching helps improve blood and lymphatic circulation and it stimulates the stretch reflex of the muscle.

What causes muscle knot?

  • It may be triggered by an injury or overuse of the muscle.
  • Having a sedentary lifestyle with little to no daily exercising.
  • Sitting in a wrong position and hunching over a computer screen.
  • Training your muscle to behave in an abnormal way.

Tips for preventing muscle knots

  • Intake of potassium and calcium.
  • Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated.
  • Avoid hunching over.
  • Take small breaks and walk around.
  • Stretching before and after working out.
